Married by Contract by Noelle Adams

Three years into a five-year marriage of convenience, Jenn finds herself wanting something she never thought she'd want from her laid-back, ex-military husband. Sex--as a much-needed release of tension from her high-stress job. But weekly sex with Nick, despite their careful parameters, is likely to get messy eventually.

Ever since her father walked out on her as a child, Jenn knows never to assume the people she loves will stick around, so she's not about to trust Nick with her heart. She vows to stay strong, no matter how much intimacy develops between them in bed.

But what starts as a tension-reliever soon becomes so much more, until it threatens both their practical arrangement and the heart Jenn has worked so hard to keep safe.

 Four Star Review:

Jenn and Nick have been married for 3 years. But they don't have an ordinary marriage; they made a deal to be married for 5 years. Both stood to gain from it. Jenn is sort of an workaholic and Nick is a PI, after being in the military.

Because Jenn is having stress headaches, Nick starts to give her massages and one thing leads to an amendment of their contract: sex once a week is now allowed.

As ridiculous as it sounds, the story is actually told in a very plausible way. Jenn and Nick are likeable characters, even when Jenn is so unbending and always working. She has her reasons to keep her heart guarded. And Nick is a great, caring man. He also has reasons to keep his life uncomplicated and easy. But will they still keep to the five-year plan? Are they still married friends having sex or will it evolve into something so much more?

Married by Contract can be read in a couple of hours and has steamy scenes that are not too explicit.

Colt Rayburn loved Aiden Delvin, once. A lifetime ago. Before duty and the Marines took him a world away, chewed him up and spit him out.

Aiden would have waited forever for Colt to come back. But Colt didn’t want that, and he’s rebuilt his life. Without the man he loves.

When Colt comes home from a deployment that went wrong, Aiden is there. Inexplicably back in Green County and impossible to resist. He swore he’d never go back to that place, never destroy Aiden the way he had when he walked away the first time.

But Aiden grew up and changed too, while Colt played war hero.

Both of them know what they want. After all this time. But can a love story that destroyed them once be rebuilt, when life and duty still hangs over them both…

The second in a sexy new series about Green County, and the people who serve there.

The Hysterics: A Standalone Rock Star Romance by Kristen Hope Mazzola

Posted by [email protected] on June 27, 2016 at 7:30 AM Comments comments (0)

Once upon a time, I was Fallon Dunbar.

Rock and roll, drugs, and bad decisions were the life I lived.

I’d fallen so deep into the dark rabbit hole that I was certain I would never make it out alive. People like me didn’t get second chances. People like me didn’t get lifted from the darkness. So when the opportunity showed up, I had to take it.

I walked away from everything I loved, everything that was killing me, and I became Fae Dunham. After that, I hid behind makeup, long sleeves, and a closed-off heart.

All was well until I met Dane Pearson. He wasn’t convinced of the new me, and whenever he was near, I felt like the old me, the real me, filled with passion and a love for music. Every day was a struggle of self-discovery. Every day was a fight to not fall back down the rabbit hole. And every day, somehow, someway, I slowly began to discover what it meant to find myself.

It was a hysteric ride, but it was ours. And I wouldn’t change a thing.

Colt & Serena: A Hysterics Companion Novella (The Hysterics Book2) by Kristen Hope Mazzola

**This Book is a Standalone** It is a companion novella to The Hysterics, a rock star romance.

Gay-for-pay, it's not just a guy thing. I was knee deep in that seedy world for far too long. It was time, time to break away from that lifestyle and make something of myself that I could be proud of. Nothing else mattered once that tattoo gun was buzzing in my hand, that is until Colt - the guitar player from The Hysterics - waltz into the shop I was apprenticing for. He turned my world upside down and I wouldn't change a damn thing.

***18+ for sexual situations, cursing, and adult content.***

Colt & Serena have a beautiful story of love and acceptance that can be felt beyond the pages they are written on.

She makes the words come alive and you become the characters, or at least the sleazy peeper. ;)

Into The Tommorows (Bleeding Hearts Book 1) By Whitney Barbetti

I was born in sadness, which was just the beginning of a solemn and desolate life. I'm no stranger to pain—none of us are. The night I held my best friend's hand as she died, I understood true agony. And I never thought I'd feel happiness again.

But that was so long ago...

Moving to Colorado to be with Colin, my high school sweetheart, was the perfect way to start over and rekindle what had begun to fizzle. I wanted that spark to ignite, to burn in passion and desire. Instead, I found myself falling for Jude, my boyfriend's roommate. He’s the only person who understands my soul, who can breach the walls I’ve built. But I can't have him.

Because I'm Trista Kohl, and my destiny is sorrow.

PLEASE NOTE: Into the Tomorrows is not a standalone. It is the first book in a series. The sequel, Back to Yesterday, will be published late summer or early fall.

Shannon's 4 Star Review:

This was the first book I read by Whitney Barbetti and I have to say, I wasn't totally disappointed. I really enjoyed her writing style and the way she flowed the story. I however kept waiting for something unpredictable to happen, a big plot twist or reveal, but it never came. I did like the story and am looking forward to the sencond book to get more of the story and find out what happens to/for Trista.

I am a voraciously avid reader and that being so, there aren't many plots and plot twists that surprise me, unfortunately. There was only one small change in the plot I didn't expect. I'm not going to tell you here because that would be rude of me to give away something significant to the story.

I do recommend you to read this book. You won't be disappointed, in fact, you'll probably like it more than I did!!

Wild For You by Jennifer St George

When her celebrity boyfriend breaks up with her on camera to boost the ratings of his TV show, fashion designer Madison Mills instructs her assistant to organise a vacation that's a long way from New York, where there's no paparazzi and where there are definitely no hot men.

Madison soon finds herself on a walking tour in the wilds of remote Tasmania. There's no chance she'll be recognised but on the 'no hot men' criteria, her assistant has spectacularly failed. The lead guide, Daniel Black, could be the face and body of any fashion campaign. But, Daniel's quick judgement that's she an urban princess has her bristling with every step.

Ex-military man Daniel has found peace in the wilderness. Hosting walking tours ensures lots of solitude and no long-term commitments. So when circumstances lead to him guiding Madison alone, he's not sure he can survive for nearly a week with a woman whose life revolves around hemlines and fashion shows.

The rugged landscape challenges them both and Daniel soon learns there is more to Madison than meets the eye. But when Madison's location is leaked to the press, can he convince her that a wilderness guide and a fashion designer from opposite side of the world can find a way to make it work?

Janet's Five Star Review:

Madison is a fashion designer, living in New York. She gets dumped by her actor boyfriend while he is filming his new reality show and - totally fed up and out of ideas for her new collection - Madison asks her assistant Holly to book her a holiday. Away from it all and especially without any hot men.

Daniel Black has lost his fiancée five years ago and is still grieving and hiding from the world. He has started a hiking business in Tasmania (Australia) and is not really amused to see one member of his group arriving in a limo and not exactly dressed for a hiking vacation of 6 days. But Madison is not as he thinks and surprises him at every turn.

Daniel and Madison trek across beautiful mountain tops from hut to hut and Madison is getting her 'mojo' back. They are really attracted to each other. But they are so different and live in different worlds and across the globe. And can Daniel let go of his past?

I thorougly enjoyed this story! Beautiful nature, two people getting to know each other and talking about their past. It is much more than I expected but the cover should be so much more inviting!

I could envision the beautiful Tasmanian nature and the creatures living there. Nice epilogue rounds the story. I highly recommend. And for under 3 dollars, you can't go wrong.

Dylan (Bachelors of the Ridge, #1)

Posted by [email protected] on June 14, 2016 at 5:40 PM Comments comments (0)

Dylan Steadman has never seen his stubbornness as a bad thing. It's always been easy for him to make up his mind and stick with it. It's why he works a lot, why he doesn't need to make time for a girlfriend, and why he recently decided to move across the country for a new job. His brothers and sister and happily settled, and now that all eyes have turned on him, he needs a change. He does not need a relationships, and moving to Colorado lets him breathe. What he didn't see coming was Kat, the much-too-young-for-him employee at his new restaurant.

Kat Perry doesn't have a family. She doesn't even really have friends, but that's by her choice. Her new manager, Dylan, has all the things that she should avoid: the muscles, the eyes, the smile, and the kind of white-knight syndrome that she doesn't know what the frick to do with. Dylan should be easy enough to disregard since she's managed to hold people at arm's length her whole life, especially when a relationship is the very last thing she wants

But she can't ignore him, not when he befriends her, and definitely not when they tap into combustible chemistry that threatens to burn down everything around them. So instead of fighting it, they come to an agreement- just friends with a bunch of benefits on the side. Easy, right? Not exactly.

Especially when the heart gets involved.

**Dylan is a 70k romantic comedy with a mild/medium heat level. It is a spin-off of the Three Little Words series and can be read as a standalone.**

I adored this book. Kat was one of my top all time favorite heroines, she was stubborn and awkward.  She'd been burned in the past and she didn't drop her gaurd for anyone.  Until she met Dylan.

Dylan has the patience of a saint and relizes that he just has to show Kat that he won't give up on her.

This book is filled with everything a great romance needs, including grand gestures.  What girl doesn't love a grand gesture.

Darcy Kincaid might be a runaway bride, but she still believes in happily ever after, which is why she’s devoted to helping couples orchestrate their perfect I do. Even though her fiancée turned out to be unfaithful and a big disappointment, Darcy walked away from her wedding fully committed—to her unborn daughter. Now, a single mom, it’s up to Darcy to secure her daughter’s future, which is why she’s invested her life savings into renovating Belle Mont Manor, Portland’s oldest, and nearly forgotten, wedding venue. So when Wedding Magazine offers her the cover for their June issue, in exchange for planning the wedding of a high-profile couple, Darcy thanks her lucky stars. Until the star’s best man turns out to be her ex’s brother…

The last time Gage Easton saw Darcy, she was sneaking out the back door of her own wedding—destroying his brother’s life. No way is he going to entrust the gorgeous jilter with his biggest client’s special day, no matter how much in love with her he secretly was. Determined to take his client’s wedding elsewhere, he confronts Darcy, only to meet a toddler with Darcy’s blonde curls and the Easton blue eyes that has him renegotiating—the wedding for a chance to know his niece. But when a fun day in the park leads to warm family dinners, Gage finds himself stuck between his loyalty to his brother—and the two women who have stolen his heart.

Janet's 3.5 star review:

Five years ago, Darcy was a runaway bride. She left groom Kyle at their wedding and is blamed by his family when he dies in a car accident soon after. Gage is Kyle's twin brother and he was actually her friend at college, even before she met Kyle.

Now Darcy has a gorgeous 4 year old girl, Kylie, and she has started a wedding business after restoring Belle Mont, a beautiful wedding venue. Gage is trying to secure Belle Mont for the upcoming wedding of his brother Rhett and is perplexed to meet his little niece. He wants to be in her life and for his family to meet Kylie. Darcy wants what is best for Kylie and that might be the Easton Family, but what about her ex mother-in-law-from-hell Margo? And what about her feelings for Gage?

I really liked this story, it was quite delightful. It is rather short or feels like it, as there is not much conflict at all. It reads like an Harlequin novel with a fast story and happy ending.
