Shannon's 5 Star Review:

Having been born and raised in Alabama, I can attest to the manners one is raised with. This was a wonderful read, but I must warn you, it is a bit of a cliffhanger.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book even if I did want to smack some sense into the main characters from time to time.

There are the ups and downs you'd expect along with some sweetness thrown in, and it's not just from the tea. This story truly gives you the "feels" and you'll love every moment.

Kris Calvert it's a new top me author and I have to say, I will be reading more.

Shannon's 4 Star Review:

Maybe I need to set my kitchen on fire!! These short stories were great. There was one really big cliffhanger (the reason for the 4 stars) and the author doesn't have a follow up book, at least not that has been published yet. Hopefully, she has it in the works.

If you want funny, sweet, loving, and smoking hot, you definitely need to read this anthology!

Sex Hell by Joe Canzano

When Debbie de La Fontaine tries to spice up her love life by supernaturally tampering with her sex life, she is cursed to spend every future encounter in a magical place called “Sex Hell,” where the sex is ludicrous and amazing but the romance is scarce.

Her only chance for escape is through the stingy clues supplied by an obnoxious demon, and the only way to obtain the clues is by returning to Sex Hell again and again to have outrageous sexcapades with the man she most wants to avoid—or does she?

Sex Hell is an absurd comic fantasy about the confusion of relationships. How is love related to sex, and how is sex related to love—and do love and sex need to be related at all?

If you’re a fan of authors like Christopher Moore, Douglas Adams, Tom Robbins, Robert Rankin, or Terry Pratchett, give Sex Hell a try!

*This book contains profanity and adult situations*

Shannon's 4 Star Review:

You've read the synopsis and you know who the author is, so I'll tell that this book starts out really funny, then becomes entertaining rather than funny. I liked the concept but it was a bit hard to keep track of the characters in the beginning as out was jumping POVs and dry. After about a dozen chapters, it gets a lot better and overall I enjoyed it. If you want an eccentric take off love and sex, then definitely read this book.

Sex, Lies, and Snickerdoodles (A Working Stiffs Mystery Book 2) by Wendy Delany

Secrets, lies, and a dead guy!

"Sex, Lies, and Snickerdoodles is more than just a yummy title, it's also a fabulous mystery."

Everybody’s got a secret. A secret crush. A secret liaison. A secret recipe. And for a deadly few, a secret murder.

Port Merritt’s favorite bad boy, Russell Falco, was a seasoned veteran of secret liaisons. But after his body washes up on the shore of Merritt Bay, Deputy Coroner and human lie detector, Charmaine Digby, suspects one of those liaisons got Russell killed.

Secrets. Lies. Cookie-baking rivals. And a dead guy. Char’s on the case and is determined to find the killer . . . if the killer doesn’t find her first!

Look for all the books in Wendy Delaney's Working Stiffs Mystery series:

Trudy, Madly, Deeply (#1)

Sex, Lies, and Snickerdoodles (#2)

There's Something About Marty (#3)

Note: Rated PG-13 for mild language.

Shannon's 4 Star Review:

Charmaine Digby is curious by nature, even when she tries to to leave things alone her brain keeps trying to figure out the puzzle. When she gets the file for the Deputy Coroner's Office, she just needs to talk to the witnesses and get their stories, nothing else. Well, if you read the first book, Trudy, Madly, Deeply, you know if something strikes Charmaine as odd, she will investigate it until she's satisfied with the answers. Sometimes she goes too far and ticks a lot of people off, but oh well.

This book is funny and entertaining. It keeps you going around in circles as you accompany Charmaine on her adventure to piece together the truth of the latest death to hit her desk.

The Hysterics: A Standalone Rock Star Romance by Kristen Hope Mazzola

Once upon a time, I was Fallon Dunbar.

Rock and roll, drugs, and bad decisions were the life I lived.

I’d fallen so deep into the dark rabbit hole that I was certain I would never make it out alive. People like me didn’t get second chances. People like me didn’t get lifted from the darkness. So when the opportunity showed up, I had to take it.

I walked away from everything I loved, everything that was killing me, and I became Fae Dunham. After that, I hid behind makeup, long sleeves, and a closed-off heart.

All was well until I met Dane Pearson. He wasn’t convinced of the new me, and whenever he was near, I felt like the old me, the real me, filled with passion and a love for music. Every day was a struggle of self-discovery. Every day was a fight to not fall back down the rabbit hole. And every day, somehow, someway, I slowly began to discover what it meant to find myself.

It was a hysteric ride, but it was ours. And I wouldn’t change a thing.

Colt & Serena: A Hysterics Companion Novella (The Hysterics Book2) by Kristen Hope Mazzola

**This Book is a Standalone** It is a companion novella to The Hysterics, a rock star romance.

Gay-for-pay, it's not just a guy thing. I was knee deep in that seedy world for far too long. It was time, time to break away from that lifestyle and make something of myself that I could be proud of. Nothing else mattered once that tattoo gun was buzzing in my hand, that is until Colt - the guitar player from The Hysterics - waltz into the shop I was apprenticing for. He turned my world upside down and I wouldn't change a damn thing.

***18+ for sexual situations, cursing, and adult content.***

Colt & Serena have a beautiful story of love and acceptance that can be felt beyond the pages they are written on.

Kristen Hope Mazzola is a wonderful storyteller!

She makes the words come alive and you become the characters, or at least the sleazy peeper. ;)

Into The Tommorows (Bleeding Hearts Book 1) By Whitney Barbetti

Posted by [email protected] on June 23, 2016 at 3:20 PM Comments comments (0)

I was born in sadness, which was just the beginning of a solemn and desolate life. I'm no stranger to pain—none of us are. The night I held my best friend's hand as she died, I understood true agony. And I never thought I'd feel happiness again.

But that was so long ago...

Moving to Colorado to be with Colin, my high school sweetheart, was the perfect way to start over and rekindle what had begun to fizzle. I wanted that spark to ignite, to burn in passion and desire. Instead, I found myself falling for Jude, my boyfriend's roommate. He’s the only person who understands my soul, who can breach the walls I’ve built. But I can't have him.

Because I'm Trista Kohl, and my destiny is sorrow.

PLEASE NOTE: Into the Tomorrows is not a standalone. It is the first book in a series. The sequel, Back to Yesterday, will be published late summer or early fall.

Shannon's 4 Star Review:

This was the first book I read by Whitney Barbetti and I have to say, I wasn't totally disappointed. I really enjoyed her writing style and the way she flowed the story. I however kept waiting for something unpredictable to happen, a big plot twist or reveal, but it never came. I did like the story and am looking forward to the sencond book to get more of the story and find out what happens to/for Trista.

I am a voraciously avid reader and that being so, there aren't many plots and plot twists that surprise me, unfortunately. There was only one small change in the plot I didn't expect. I'm not going to tell you here because that would be rude of me to give away something significant to the story.

I do recommend you to read this book. You won't be disappointed, in fact, you'll probably like it more than I did!!

Jazzy Jeopardy (A Piece of Cake Mystery) by AR Winters

Catching a killer is a piece of cake... Or is it?

A jazz-themed restuarant, a dangerous poisoning...

Mindy and Beth hurry to uncover a dangerous murderer, before it's too late. Too bad Mindy's nemesis Neve insists on "helping"...

Shannon's Four Star Review:

Mindy and Beth are hired to look into the possible poisoning case. What they find out is tragic. There's rumors of ghosts, a stalker who likes to leave red roses, and possibly bad ceviche.

This book seemed a little slower and dragged a little with an overabundance of users details in some places. Overall the book was good and you wavered back and forth as to who the culprit would be.

It wasn't a cliffhanger but does seem to be left open for another story.

It's worth reading and enjoying.

"He was over here for like five hours last night drinking and talking with Dad. You think I like him? My dad's in love. And the way he didn’t hesitate to put Benji in his place, I just think Dad’s got a good feeling about him."

"Shit, I've got a good feeling about him too... and it's in my panties." She laughs and motions toward her crotch. "If I had been working and saw him do that to Benji's fat ass, I would've let him f*ck me right on top of the bar…and I would’ve let everyone watch."

"I'm serious. F*ck it!”

"You're ridiculous."

"Paige, don't tell me you didn't notice that anaconda stuffed into his jeans?"

"What?! What the f*ck are you talking about? Anaconda? I wasn't looking at his damn jeans." I laugh, finding it hard to not to love this girl who has become like a sister to me. She's the craziest bitch I know, but she's got my back no matter what. She's had it since day one.

"Why wouldn’t you look at his jeans? That’s where his dick is!”

Shannon's Five Star Review:

Oh my at the feels this book gives! It is quite a page turning roller coaster of emotions. I had to read it in one sitting because there was no way I couldn't know what was happening next. I wanted to know, no, I HAD to know. Xander and Paige are from totally different worlds, so different yet so much alike.

Okay, so I'm not going to go into what the book was about, you've read the synopsis, so you already know what it's about. What I am going to tell you is, this is a great breakout solo novel from BT Urruela and I'm looking forward to reading many more in the Broken Outlaw Series.

Get your copy of this book, some popcorn, tissues, and your drink of choice, then hang on as you read this adventure set in a tiny town in Missouri. You won't be disappointed!
